Affiliate disclosure

Plain-language transparency about how Type 5 Marketing and its brands earn money. This is the policy affiliate networks and readers can rely on.

Last updated: June 24, 2026

The short version

Type 5 Marketing LLC and the brands it operates participate in affiliate programs. When you click a link to a product or service we recommend and make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you. These commissions help fund our research, testing, and editorial work.

That's the whole arrangement, and we want it understood plainly: earning a commission never changes our verdict. We tell you when a link is an affiliate link, and we apply the same standard everywhere we publish.

How affiliate links work on our sites

  • Affiliate relationships are disclosed clearly and before the first affiliate linkon a page, in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidance.
  • Commissions are paid by the merchant or network, not by you. Your price is the same whether you use our link or not.
  • Commission rates are never a ranking factor. Products are evaluated on our public six-metric methodology, and a higher-paying program does not earn a better placement.
  • We do not accept payment in exchange for a favorable review, and we do not run “review for a free product” arrangements that would compromise our independence. See our editorial policy.

Programs we participate in

Our brands participate in mainstream affiliate networks and merchant programs appropriate to each niche — for example the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program for consumer products, and reputable specialty and travel programs where they fit a brand's coverage. As an Amazon Associate, our applicable brands earn from qualifying purchases. Each property maintains its own disclosure reflecting the specific programs it uses.
