Editorial policy
The formal statement of how Type 5 Marketing keeps its reviews independent and honest. This is the linkable policy networks and partners reference; a readable summary lives on our Editorial Standards page.
Last updated: June 24, 2026
1. Editorial independence
Editorial decisions at Type 5 Marketing LLC and its brands are made independently of commercial relationships. No advertiser, affiliate program, merchant, or partner may purchase a ranking, alter a score, secure a recommendation, or have a competitor removed or downgraded. Our recommendations reflect our editorial judgment applied through our published review methodology, and nothing else.
2. No paid placements or pay-for-coverage
We do not accept payment, gifts, or other consideration in exchange for favorable coverage. We do not run “review in exchange for a free product” arrangements that would create an obligation to the seller. When we receive a product sample for testing, that fact does not entitle the seller to a positive verdict, and any such relationship is disclosed.
3. Affiliate revenue and its limits
Our brands earn affiliate commissions, disclosed in full on our affiliate disclosure page. Commission rates are never an input to a ranking or score. A product that pays a higher commission does not receive a better placement than a competing product that performs better against our rubric.
4. Sourcing and accuracy
Claims are supported by evidence — manufacturer specifications, hands-on testing where feasible, certification and safety records, and credible third-party data — cited on the page. We distinguish between what we have tested directly and what is based on specifications or external data. We do not publish statistics, rankings, or claims we cannot source.
5. Original work and attribution
Our content is researched and written by our team and attributed to named people, not anonymous bylines — see our team page. We do not republish manufacturer marketing copy as if it were independent review, and the corporate site does not reproduce a portfolio brand's review content wholesale.
6. Corrections
We correct errors promptly. When we learn that a published page is inaccurate or out of date, we update it and reflect substantive changes in the page's last-updated date. Readers and partners can report a suspected error at any time through our contact page.
7. Re-verification cadence
Top recommendations are re-verified on a quarterly cadence, and any page is reviewed sooner when a product is discontinued, materially changes, or new evidence emerges. Trust and legal pages are reviewed at least every six months.
8. Scope
This policy applies to Type 5 Marketing LLC and every brand in its portfolio. Each property may publish additional, niche-specific editorial standards, but none may fall below the baseline set here.
