The problem with most affiliate sites

Affiliate marketing has a reputation problem, and it's earned. A large share of affiliate sites hide who runs them, rank products by commission rather than merit, bury or omit disclosure, and recycle manufacturer copy as if it were a review. Affiliate networks know this, which is why their reviewers scrutinize applicants so closely — they're trying to separate real publishers from thin, commission-chasing pages.

Type 5 Marketing was built to be the opposite of that pattern, on purpose. Everything about how we run affiliate brands is designed to survive due diligence.

How we operate affiliate brands

Our affiliate work rests on four commitments, each verifiable on this site:

• Disclosure first. Every property states its affiliate relationships plainly and before any affiliate link, in line with our affiliate disclosure and FTC guidance.
• Merit-based rankings. Products are scored on a public six-metric rubric. Commission rates are never an input. A more lucrative program does not earn a better placement.
• Real authorship. Named editors write the verdicts and cite their evidence — see our team.
• Independence in writing. Our editorial policyprohibits pay-for-placement and “review for free product” deals.

Program relationship management

Beyond building the brands, we manage the relationships that keep them compliant: selecting programs whose terms permit honest reviews, implementing tracking correctly, keeping disclosures current as programs change, and maintaining consistent company information so a network can confirm we are who we say we are. Because the whole portfolio runs under one entity, a network reviewing one of our brands can trust the standards apply across all of them.
