Pad & Polish covers the paint-correction and protection side of car detailing across six areas: machine polishers, cutting and polishing pads, compounds and polishes, ceramic coatings, car wax and sealants, and paint prep and decontamination. Its hero states the posture in a line — "Paint correction gear, chosen from the specs and the math" — and it stays deliberately narrow, leaving wash gear, interiors, and wheels to sister brands so it can go deep on the tools that actually cut and protect a clear coat.

Its defining decision is stated plainly: "We don't run a lab — and we say so." There is no testing bench, and the site is careful not to claim hands-on comparisons it didn't run, noting that "nobody is a credentialed expert across polishers, pads, compounds, coatings, and wax all at once, and claiming otherwise would be dishonest." What it does instead is read the manuals, compile the published specifications, and work out the cost-of-ownership arithmetic — cost per application, cost per year, and coverage per bottle — from published sizes and coverage claims, with the inputs shown so a reader can check the math. Its scores are labelled for what they are, editorial judgement applied to published data rather than a bench result, and prices pull live from Amazon carrying the date they were fetched, disappearing once the data is more than 48 hours old rather than showing a number that has gone stale.

That refusal to claim a test it never ran is exactly how Type 5 Marketing operates. The brand is reader-funded through disclosed Amazon Associates links at no extra cost to the buyer, and it says plainly that which product wins "is decided by the research, not the payout," so a commission never changes which product it ranks first.
