Its hero states the posture in a line — "The best baking gear, researched properly" — under the tagline "Independent · Live prices · No test-lab theater," and it leads with the figure most of the category buries: zero products it claims to have tested.

Its defining decision is stated where most of the category bluffs: "We don't run a testing lab, and we're not going to write 'in our testing' as though we do." What it does instead is read the manuals, compile the manufacturer's published specifications, cite each figure to its source, and — as it puts it — "tell you plainly when we couldn't verify something," doing the wattage-to-dough arithmetic in public rather than inventing a result. It fabricates no prices, ratings, review counts, or specifications, and every score breaks into five named metrics explained on its How We Pick page rather than a single number pulled from the air. Prices come from Amazon's API stamped with the date they were checked, and once the data is more than 48 hours old the figure disappears and the button falls back to "Check price" rather than showing a number that has gone stale.

That refusal to claim a test it never ran is exactly how Type 5 Marketing operates. The brand is funded by the Amazon Associates program — "when you buy through one of our links we earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you" — with no brand paying for placement, and it states plainly that the commission never changes a ranking. Written by Stephen V., positioned honestly as "an enthusiast who genuinely enjoys kitchen gear and home baking" rather than a chef, an appliance engineer, or a "seasoned expert" — "we're not going to invent a lab coat for him" — it leads with the published spec, does the running-cost arithmetic in public, and admits the work it hasn't done, the standard we hold across every property in the portfolio.
